DATING DO'S

DO be yourself. He's asked you out because he likes you just as you are. There's no need to put on any airs or graces just because you're on a 'date' date.
DO make an effort to look your best but don't go way over the top. Make up slapped on with a trowel is way scary for lads - just take the subtly gorgeous approach and you can't go wrong. Think Tash Bedingfield/Rachel Stevens for oh-so-casual girl next door glamour.
DO keep the conversation flowing by asking him lots of questions and listening to what he has to say in response.
DO offer to pay half if it's a first date - unless he insists of course - it's polite and show's that you're not just out for what you can get out of him.
DO tell your parents where you're going and who with. There's no point putting them off your potential new boyfriend right from the start by lying to them.
DO arrange for a mate to text you half way through the evening. This is good because it makes you look popular and gives you an excuse to leave if the date is a disaster. Simply say the message says you're needed at home urgently!
DO make eye contact, subtly play with your hair and/or lean in close to him when you talk - these body language signals all say "I'm interested.' and are great ways to let him know that you're keen.
DO kiss him at the end of the evening if you want to!

DATING DON'TS

DON'T talk about yourself all night long. Conversation is a two way thing - let him get a word in every now and then!
DON'T go somewhere too noisy, quiet or where your mates are going to be hanging out in a big gang. Too noisy - you can't have a good natter. Too quiet - too scary when you speak and if you're friends are hanging around, they'll try and take the mickey and distract you.
DON'T wear anything you're not comfortable in. You don't want to spend the entire date worrying about visible bra straps or uncomfortable shoes - wear something you love - and you can walk in!
DON'T spend the entire time checking your phone for messages.
DON'T talk about your ex all night long.
DON'T feel pressurised into doing anything you don't want to do.
DON'T text him five minutes after the date's finished saying what a great time you had and when can you get together again? Play it a bit cool!
DON'T play too hard to get though, if you like him and you want to see him again, don't be afraid to follow up with a text asking him out. Guys aren't mind readers, if you like him, let him know!
