| “Natural” is the buzzword in the beauty biz these days. And you can enjoy a natural beauty spa at home! It’s a lot cheaper than buying beauty products at the shops. And, since you will find lots of these ingredients in your Mum’s kitchen cupboards, you can make most of them without much hassle. |

Soothing Skin Clarifier (for minor acne flare-ups)
Mix 1/2 cup warm water with 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Using a cotton ball, apply directly to blemish. Hold pressure with cotton ball for several minutes, to soften blemish. Using a cotton swab, dab honey on blemish; leave on 10 minutes. Rinse and pat dry.
Nail and Cuticle Moisturizer
Olive oil can simply be massaged into the nail and cuticle area to moisturize and nourish the nail area. This is a great trick that will make those nasty hangnails a thing of the past.
Kiwi Eye Soother
Place a thin slice of kiwi on each closed eyelid to rejuvenate eyes and eliminate dark circles. Leave on for 15 minutes.
Kiwi Facial
Put peeled kiwi in a blender or food processor. Add ½ a cucumber and 5 strawberries. Blend well. If the mixture is too runny, add a tiny bit of oatmeal to thicken. Massage into face and neck. After 15 minutes, rinse with warm water.
Olive Oil Moisturizing/Exfoliating Facial Scrub
A couple of teaspoons of sugar and enough olive oil to make a paste - use this facial scrub for the softest skin ever without spending a penny. Be careful though - too much oil and you might break out in pimples!
Body Scrub: Mix coarse salt with a little olive oil and 10 drops of any essential oil for a great body scrub that will exfoliate and moisturize at the same time.
Just remember, these homemade treatments don’t contain any preservatives so you might want to make them fresh before each use. |
