| Did the Easter bunny bring you lots of eggs? No, not the choccy ones – the real ones! Oh well, your Mum will have plenty in the fridge. Those lovely little things are not only full of vitamins but can also be an effective alternative to expensive beauty treatments! |

Eggs are packed with 10 different vitamins and nutrients - including selenium to protect cells from damage which keeps your skin looking young. They have lots of vitamin A for healthy skin and eyes; protein to strengthen hair and nails; and Vitamin E, which helps healing and regeneration.
Save a fortune on spa treatments by trying these quick and inexpensive beauty recipes:
Egg White Facial Mask
Egg whites make an amazing facial mask if you have either oily or combination skin. Separate the egg white from the yolk and beat until frothy. Apply to face and neck and let dry. Keep it on your face for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off.
You’ll immediately see that your skin is tighter, pores are smaller, and that oily sheen is gone. Don’t apply more than once per week.
Egg Yolk Hair Conditioner
Great for both oily hair and split ends. You can apply this while you do the egg white facial mask: Beat one egg yolk. Add one tablespoon of olive oil and beat the mixture again. Add one cup of water and mix thoroughly before coating your hair. Rinse with cool water to avoid cooking the egg.
Egg Yolk Mask
If you have dry, parchy skin, use the egg yolk for a facial mask instead of the egg white. Just whip up an egg yolk and apply it to your skin for 20 minutes before washing off with warm water.
And what do you with the eggshells? Simply crush up eggshells with coffee grounds and then put the compost in with your potted plants, it’s just as effective as commercial plant foods. |
