All depending if you are on holiday or at home, there are great ways to keep cool, like swimming, jet skiing, water skiing, washing your Dad’s car, running through the lawn sprinkler or having a water gun war (something boys like to do, by the way).
How do you dress best? Wear cotton. Preferably in lighter shades. Cover your head with a cool cap and protect your eyes with sunglasses whenever outdoors.
Go easy on the makeup and let your skin breathe as naturally as possible. If you do go into the water a lot, make sure to condition your hair at least once a week, too much wetting and drying can make your hair dry and brittle.
Don’t forget the sunscreen, best with a minimum of SPF 15. It not only protects you from skin cancer, but also prevents you getting wrinkles.
Go easy on the salt as it will cause your body to retain water and that will make you bloat. You’ll notice your rings or shoes start getting tighter and socks that are usually comfortable leaving ugly marks on your feet. To get rid of the excess water, you should drink lots of water. Sound strange? It’s true!
Or how about making your own ice lollies? Just pour lemonade in the ice-cube dish, wait about an hour for the lemonade to slightly harden and put a stick in the middle. Then allow the lemonade to harden. Turn the ice cube dish upside down and let the ice lolly plop out. Delicious!
Now smoothies are a must. Put any fruit you like into the blender, all except for the skin and pips, add ice cream and blend until smooth. Have a smoothie party!
But no matter what you do, smile and stay…..cool ;-) |
