Whats That Smell?
Ever feel like you’re in a deodorant commercial, trying to discreetly get a whiff of your armpits? How did you survive the years without deodorant?

As you go through puberty, your body changes in a multitude of ways. One way is that the hormones in your body may make you sweat more and cause your ‘pits to stink. There are other reasons why you may sweat, too. Any stressful or exciting experience can make your sweat glands race. But how are you supposed to plan for a cute boy saying hi to you or an embarrassing moment occurring?

Since you’re now a REAL teenager, it’s important to shower or bathe daily. Use a good antibacterial soap. Bacteria causes odor and soap will get rid of it. So, scrub-a-dub-dub, girlies!

Deodorant is your friend! There are a wide variety of deodorants for you to choose from. There are roll-ons, spray deodorant, solids, invisible solid, clear gels, deodorants with moisturizers—it could make your head spin! You also have to decide if you want a deodorant or an antiperspirant. Deodorant just masks odour, while an antiperspirant actually helps you sweat less. Most antiperspirants have deodorants. If you’re confused, ask your mom or friends what they use and try them.

Keep a deodorant stick in your book bag or your locker, along with some body spray. Life is full of high stress situations, so be prepared!

Remember, personal hygiene can sometimes seem like a real drag, but it’s essential!
