We all know that preparation is key to beauty, after all you wouldn’t put your make up on without cleansing and moisturising your face first! Well the same goes for shaving. There’s more to achieving soft, smooth fuzz-free skin than a quick once over with a razor. What you do before AND after shaving can mean the difference between a good shave and a perfect shave!
So if you’re preparing to bare all this summer, follow these simple tips and you’ll have beach beautiful skin in no time. |

- Hydrating your hair by waiting for 2-3 minutes after stepping into the shower or bath before you shave makes it easier to shave! But make sure you only soak for 2-3 minutes though, otherwise you’ll end up with wrinkly slightly swollen skin making it more difficult to get a smooth, close shave.
- Apply a moisturising shave gel. Soap is great for cleaning your body, but it’s just no good for shaving! Some soaps cause dryness and flaking and may clog the razor during shaving which may leave you with stubbly skin – not a good look for summer! If you want visibly smooth and soft skin, a moisture rich shave gel such as Gillette Satin Care is the perfect choice. |

- Dry your skin with care. After you’ve shaved, try to pat your skin with your towel rather than rub it harshly. By patting it, you leave some water on your skin which will be sealed in when you moisturise. This will help eliminate dry flaky skin and leave you glowing.
- Seal in moisture. After shaving, apply a rich moisturiser to help seal in moisture and keep your skin soft and radiantly smooth. A light dusting of powder to your bikini area will also provide a refreshing post-shave feeling.
Now you’re ready to be a poolside Goddess and be the envy of everyone around you! |
